This fascicle covers two families of vascular plants. Rutaceae is represented in Madagascar and the Comoros islands by nine genera, of which three introduced, and 55 species, of which 46 endemic, one polydemic, and eight introduced, cultivated, or naturalised. The family Simaroubaceae is much smaller with only three genera represented in this area, of which one endemic.
